Here is a selection of readings, events, and public engagements I’ve taken part in.

  • The Stinging Fly Issue 47 Launch

    • Published a memoir piece centred on a settelment, one of the earliest chapters written for my PhD/Memoir

    • Gave a public reading of the winning piece, marking the first time I shared that story aloud

    • The piece was subsequently published in The Waxed Lemon literary journal

    • Winning piece from the Write by the Sea competition published

  • Art for Action: DisAbility Awareness Week (2024)

    • Selected to present a visual poster poem titled “In the Silence, We Hear” at the opening night

    • The piece featured hand signs spelling “inclusivity” and fragments of a poem about the challenges of hidden disabilities (see below)

    • Contributed to a broader conversation about accessibility and creative expression

  • Joint LAI/CILIP Conference (2025)

    • Lightening paper selected for presentation at the joint Library Association of Ireland / Charted Insitute of Library and Information Professionals

    • Themed “Shining Lights”, my paper explored the role of academic libraries as safe spaces, drawing on my experience as a library intern

    • Though I was unable to attend in person, my work was included in the programme

  • Christy Nolan ‘Perseverance Through Words’ Competition (2025)

    • Shortlisted for a piece reflecting on the discovery and quiet reclamation of my Traveller heritage.

    • The work responded to quotes from Under the Eye of the Clock, exploring themes of identity, silence and recovery

    • Orinally developed as part of my PhD’s creative-critical research, the piece was featured online during the event celebrating Christy Nolan’s legacy
