Tír na nÓg Issue 2 Launch (2021)
First publication of a piece written during my MA in Writing at NUI Galway
“Fruit of Your Loins”, written in the second person, explores themes of pregnancy and miscarriage
Invited to read at the official launch celebrating emerging Irish voices
Olney Magazine Publication (2021)
Published a poem inspired by the death of my brother, though the piece reflects more broadly on loss and the passing of time
Featered in Olney’s online platform, which spotlights emerging and experimental writers
The Stinging Fly Issue 47 Launch
Published a memoir piece centred on a settelment, one of the earliest chapters written for my PhD/Memoir
Atteneded the launch, where a small selection of contributors were invited to read
Write by the Sea Literary Festival, Kilmore Quay (2024)
Winner of the memoir competition for an excerpt from my memoir-in-progress
Gave a public reading of the winning piece, marking the first time I shared that story aloud
The piece was subsequently published in The Waxed Lemon literary journal
The Waxed Lemon Issue 8 Publication (2024)
Winning piece from the Write by the Sea competition published
Art for Action: DisAbility Awareness Week (2024)
Selected to present a visual poster poem titled “In the Silence, We Hear” at the opening night
The piece featured hand signs spelling “inclusivity” and fragments of a poem about the challenges of hidden disabilities (see below)
Contributed to a broader conversation about accessibility and creative expression
Joint LAI/CILIP Conference (2025)
Lightening paper selected for presentation at the joint Library Association of Ireland / Charted Insitute of Library and Information Professionals
Themed “Shining Lights”, my paper explored the role of academic libraries as safe spaces, drawing on my experience as a library intern
Though I was unable to attend in person, my work was included in the programme
Christy Nolan ‘Perseverance Through Words’ Competition (2025)
Shortlisted for a piece reflecting on the discovery and quiet reclamation of my Traveller heritage.
The work responded to quotes from Under the Eye of the Clock, exploring themes of identity, silence and recovery
Orinally developed as part of my PhD’s creative-critical research, the piece was featured online during the event celebrating Christy Nolan’s legacy
Christy Nolan Preserverance Through Words Competition
Shortlisted for the Christy Nolan Competition at Trinity College Dublin, a competition open to all disabled staff and students, celebrating creativity across various art forms.
